I never said that I feared having the icon present. On the contrary, I
*want* it present and for all the same reasons you mentioned. Unfortunately,
I don't get the icon when I run it in any user context besides "System
Account." My guess is thast this has something to do with the 'Allow
service to interact with desktop' setting that only the System Account has.

As for auto-admin-login, using such a method defeats the purpose of running
services, as you have to leave the box in a logged-in state all the time.
It may be the way some people do it, but I don't care for it myself.

Thanks for the suggestions, though.
