I'm running NT Server 4 w/SP 5 and IIS 4.=20
Using WARFTP for customer FTP accounts ... and something is driving me =
nuts.
Apparently IIS 4 has some "sweeping" function ... that when a file is =
opened that locks it for a period of time until the next "sweep".
This is all fine and dandy.. but if someone hits a page right before I =
upload the updated page or something it gives me an error saying "Failed =
to open file for write".
I read that if you upload a temp file. delete the original.. then rename =
the temp to the original.. it will fix it.. but I'm doing that and still =
not getting the proper results.
I'm trying to build a WebCam32 site that updates (FTPs a snapshot named =
image.jpg) every 30 seconds.... if anyone looks at the page.. it locks =
the image.jpg file so it can't update >: (
Please tell me I'm an idiot and there is an easy fix for this error.
Thanks,
Shane Evans
