Subject: [Emerald] Statements in Emerald v4

Emerald V4 uses statements to perform several functions which are critical to the proper operation of the system. Those are as follows:

Updates the aging information on the MBR
Updates the external transaction table therefore allowing them to be batched out with CC and ACH payment types
Updates the statement balance on the MBR

Emerald 2.5 previously did this with the creation of each invoice during batching of the invoices. Emerald V4 now does this activity in the statement creation process. It is imperative to the integrity of the system to perform batch invoices then batch of the statements to arrive at the correct MBR balances.

Invoices in Emerald V4 bill for the chosen service and to pick up the adjustments applied to the MBR. They do not perform the roll-up activity that the Emerald 2.5 invoice feature did.

For additional information on the Emerald V4 system please see the Emerald V4 Users Guide. For more information on what to do and to expect during a conversion please see the Conversion Helpful Hints document. Both are available at ftp://ftp.iea-software.com
