[Emerald] Strange Serv-U issue

Okay, here's one to start the weekend off with.

I have an MBR with two complimentary services under it. Neither service has
a home directory associated with it. With the exception of user name and
password, everything else is identical.

We are using the authentication DLL that was packaged with .322 and Serv-U
2.4a has been working with Emerald for quite some time now.

Here's the kicker: If I attempt to log in the first user, the user is simply
denied access, as he should be. If, however, I try the same with the second
account, Serv-U crashes immediately after I enter the user name and press
{enter} and Dr. Watson pulls out his stethoscope. Iam never prompted for a
password. Cool, 'eh?

If I don't load the authentication DLL, this does not happen, so I am
suspicious of EmerAuth.

What could it be about this particular service that Serv-U and/or EmerAuth
doesn't like?
