If you have Perl installed on the NT machine, you can use Mail::Sendmail.
You'll probably have to get the sendmail.pm file from a CPAN site and stick
it in your \perl\lib\mail directory. If you want the file (and the info for
how to use it) let me know. The Sendmail.pm file is 23k and the text file
(info) is 13k.
