IE 5 seemed to help, we have had more of them since, we forwarded the
offending messages on to software.com, the first one they said the message
was fine and that they could retrieve it OK, the second batch I haven't
heard back yet.

It only seems to happen with modem users, not LAN users (as has always been
the case here anyway)
