A few weeks ago I couldn't figure out why my proxy server at home was
dialing in, until I finally figured out that Real Audio was checking for
updates. Took it out of the systray and it quit dialing.
Some Compaq's have a feature that checks their site for software updates.
Microsoft Critical Update checks M$ for updates.
Could be alot of things.
