Regarding the problems with MS OE and Post.Office:

Previously Software.com had debugged the issue with MS OE client "hangs"
that resulted from a problem in OE regarding the termination of a message.
A workaround is available in the 3.5.3 release of Post.Office. The
activation steps have been posted to this list, or they are available from
support@software.com.

This did not help those of you with version 3.1.2, of course. We've
corrected that oversight, and we now have a patch available (a replacement
POP-Server binary) that implements the same workaround that is in 3.5.3 for
the MS OE bug.

We believe this solves all the known or documented "hangs" encountered with
the MS OE client. We're not terribly comfortable with this workaround since
it must modify the body of the message (it inserts an extra carriage-return,
which should have no visible effect since it is not coupled with a
line-feed), but since the alternative (getting your customers to upgrade to
the fixed version of MS OE) is not too attractive, we are making the
workaround available to those who wish to use it.

Please contact support@software.com for the patch and information on
activating the workaround.

Thanks,
