I suspect it was only a fluke... line noise or some other interference that
caused the connection to drop, and as it just so happened, after one minute.

The NAS should treat each call independent of the last. If the default on
the box is no session timeout, and RADIUS does not explicitly define a
session timeout, then there should be no timeout. Under no circumstance
should the timeout of the last caller be carried over to the current caller.
