If we change that to a default, then people will complain that an
invoice
they are searching for (that just happen to be paid) isn't available
(see below for a workaround).

One of the things we've added in the upcoming update is the ability to
search for invoices based on a customer ID, since some people have
modified their Invoice.rpt to always show the CustomerID, not the ever
changing invoice number. The other thing we are working on (this is
a little ways off, though) is a payment entry sheet to make payments
against accounts/invoices in bulk.
