How do you configure RadiusNT using MS Access to give a fixed IP address to
a specific user and no other.

Thanks

Add entried in the RadConfigs table matching the user's accountid.
RadiusNT will use those entries (attributes, including the
Framed-Address
attribute with the IP) for the user instead of the RadATConfigs entries.

Its the name they logged in as. The DEFAULT is just a special casethat matches all names. It doesn't change their name.

Use this entry at the bottom of your users files:

DEFAULT Password = "ANY" Attribute = Values, etc..

but only when you want to auth everyone. > Can someone please refresh my memory ? What is the name of this special user> ? Is it "any" ? And will my customers need to use "any" as their login name> ? Or will their existing login names be accepted ? If their login names will> be accepted, will it be accounted for in both text mode ODBC mode ?

It will accept all username/password combinations. The "ANY" passwordactually works for any username (including DEFAULT) as well as any userin the database (ODBC MODE). In both mode, it will do accounting toboth. This dosn't change anything about how accounting works (it still worksas normal).

> Does this special user work also for RadiusNT 1.16.60 ?

Nope.

Sorry for the vague question. This is a clearer one ...

Does the "Default" user function in 1.16.60 ( even if just in text mode ) ?

What if I run in both text mode and ODBC mode ? Will users be able to authbecause of the "Default" user configured in the text file and still haveaccounting info in the ODBC database ?

Hi Dale,

I hate these types of help messages but....

I ran the calls consolidation today (15/8) in preparation for processingall my bills which I charge monthly as at the 15th. All I got was an errormessage "Error executing consolidation procedure".

What gives?

I also ran the "Summary" option first and it only shows 1 invoice due onthe 31st? Thats on the basis that 1(3108) means one invoice due 31/8.

You need to run the consol.sql script that is located on ourFTP site before consolidation will work in Emerald 2.2. Emerald2.1 doesn't use the stored proc, BTW.

ftp://ftp.iea-software.com/emerald/beta/consol.sql Make sure you check permissions after adding the proc.

No. It means there are 3108 calls to be processed for theprevious completed billing cycle of your customers. Neitherhas anything to do with dates.

Someday would be ban 1.16 questions <GRIN>. It sorta like Microsoftfielding questions for Windows NT 3.1 (yeah, a few still use it, butits ancient history).

Yes, 1.16 supports the DEFAULT user. > What if I run in both text mode and ODBC mode ? Will users be able to auth> because of the "Default" user configured in the text file and still have> accounting info in the ODBC database ?

Yes.

I haven't done all of them, but I did as a few of the more popular onesto Emerald 2.5. Some of the column orders have changed, so you mayneed to alter these before they will work.
