I don't know how relevant it is to backup the master as well. When you
dump the Emerald database, it includes the portions of the master
database that are relevant to the Emerald database structure. With
just the Emerald dump, you can fully restore the database on another
SQL Server if needed. Restoring the Master Database on another SQL
server may had side affects or not work (path issues, etc).

I just tried this with @isp3 configured to go to 10.0.0.1 and@isp3.com configured to go to 127.0.0.2. RadiusNT correctly forwarded the requests:

> radrecv: Request from host 7f000001 code=1, id=89, length=62> NAS-Identifier = 127.0.0.1> NAS-Port = 0> User-Name = "daler@isp3"> rad_authenticate_ODBC()> Sending proxy request to: isp3:10.0.0.1:blah:73

> radrecv: Request from host 7f000001 code=1, id=147, length=66> NAS-Identifier = 127.0.0.1> NAS-Port = 0> User-Name = "daler@isp3.com"> rad_authenticate_ODBC()> Sending proxy request to: isp3.my.com:127.0.0.2:blah:77

Are you using MS Access or SQL Server? You didn't include that part.With SQL Server, the stored procedure RadCheckDomain is used to findwhethere there are any domains in the database. If this stored procwas modified to have a "like %" clause added, I could see thishappening. The one from the docs doesn't have it, though. :(

Every 30 seconds i get the following in the radius window....

Resp Time: 40 Auth: 0/0 -> 0 Acct: 1/987/0 -> 988radrecv: Request from host cb391402 code=4, id=3, length=79 Acct-Session-Id = "12000002" User-Name = "admin" NAS-Identifier = 203.57.20.2 Acct-Status-Type = Start Acct-Authentic = Local User-Service-Type = Shell-User Login-Service = Telnet Login-Host = 203.57.20.1 Acct-Delay-Time = 1246837

SQL Statement: INSERT INTO Calls (CallDate,AcctSessionId,UserName,NASIdentifier,AcctStatusType,AcctDelayTime) VALUES (GetDate(),'12000002','admin','203.57.20.2',1,1246837)

ODBC Error:23000:233: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]The column NASPort in table Calls may not be null.

Resp Time: 30 Auth: 0/0 -> 0 Acct: 1/988/0 -> 989

This makes it difficlut to monitor whats going on in the window,any ideas on howto get rid of it ?

Thanks

Greg

Go into Enterprise manager and edit your calls table. Add a (-1) in the default column for NASPort and click save. It should go away thenext time the request is received.

Dale -

Livingston's recent tour pointed out some interesting things about theirplans for future direction.

They said that they will only support multiple IP address pools (similar toAscend's implementation) in their Radius ABM product rather than addressingit in ComOS.

Livingston may be the father of RADIUS, but I can not see our clientsdumping your product to jump on their ABM product. Livingston's track recordat timely and functional software updates seems to have hit an all time newlow.

Your Radius product has all of the functional elements to handle the job.Have you (will you) look into adding this feature?

Its already in the works. Its being rolled into the Emerald databaseschema, and will be available around the same time that Emerald 2.5itselfis (with a newer version of RadiusNT 2.5 itself, of course). Thisfeaturewill only be avilable with a RadiusNT Enterprise licenses or Emerald Standard/Enterprise licenses.
