Subject: Access to client info with html ?
From: Greg H <greg@golsyd.net.au>
Date: Mon, 13 Jul 1998 19:22:56 +1000

Hi,

Im using Radius 2.5 and Emerald on NT.

Is there any utilities or progs that will help me allow clients to
access some info about their accounts eg: Hours/data used etc, via our
website ?

Thanks Greg

ps: Thanks to Dale and others that replied to my last msg ,i have learnt
so much off this list ,just wanna let yas know that many of us
appreciate your help :)You probably help many more people than you
think.

I run a small but very well equipped ISP in Sydney Australia.
One thing we have learnt ,that is that billing is one thing we gotta get
running smoothly.

Any veiws on Emerald ? Is there an easier way ? Emerald seems very
powerful but at this stage many of its features are seemingly diffficult
to get to stage where things are streamlined .Going to RTFM "again"
now............ :))

Easiest way to get your database info on the web would be to use MicrosoftVisual Interdev. You can download a beta from their website. You have toknow a bit of Visual Basic or Visual C++ in order to customize the asp itgenerates.

Hope this helps.

Someone just email me and drop me the link or file.

Thanks, would be a great help.

I don't have blat, but I use an NT sendmail clone that I found that workswell. You can find it at http://www.stalkerlab.ch/SMailers/index.html.

There are some ASP and Cold Fusion examples on our FTP site. We areworking on a full customer web interface as we speak.

I've been trying to get 2.5.124 to validate against a passwd file in thec:\radius directory.I'm running in ODBC mode only and have a test account with a password ofUNIX. radius reports a bad password when using radlogin. Page 14 of thev2.5 manual seems straight forward enough, is there a step missing or isthis functionallity broken? My only thought was that the process that gotthe passwd file to me may have DOSified passwd by putting a cr/lfcombination at the end of each line. could this cause a problem?

I've just implemented the newest comos for a pm3. It has the call-checkfeature. If I understand the documentation correctly It can check anincoming call before the modem actually answers. Would it be possible todeny/allow access to certain ports using the radius 2.5.124 and howwould one implement this? Would one use this in the server access table?

Any help or perhaps a pointer to some faq would be greatly appreciated.

I send this message on Friday but I guess it didn't go through here it again:

-------------------------------------------------------------We've succesfully transfered our database to the new machine. We'veinstalled RadiusNT 2.5 and tested Authentication and Accounting accordingto the RadiusNT documentation, they both seem to be working ok since we get a "Good 1" reply after issuing Radlogin.

When we bring the new machine "live" running Radius as a service toauthenticate users they are not being authenticated !! No error messages,no nothing they are simply not authenticated.

Any ideas what's happening?? If I bring the 'old' machine back to thenetwork every user is authenticated smoothly. Each machine is setupproperly, for testing purposes I've setup a 2nd. radius and accounting hostin our PowerRack. Any ideas.....

I use iHTML to do this as well as access other database's etc.

A demo copy is available for trial at www.inline.net .

If you wish to go that route then I'll be happy to let you have my ihtmlfiles for guidance.

Hi Dale,

Can we allocate server ports to a service using Emerald yet?

If so, how so?
