Strange NT bootup

Anyone ever seen NT boot up seemingly fine, come up to the splash
screen, but never present you with the logon box, the ctrl+ alt+ del
box or anything? I sure haven't, and from what I can tell, neither
has TechNet or the KnowledgeBase. I'm doing an upgrade install to
try and fix it, but just curious if anyone out there has seen this
behavior...
