Hi,

We use SS4 since a few months now and we are experiencing very serious
memory problems with it. Tried SS4 already on 3 different servers, for now
it is running on a dual P-II with 256MB RAM. After it was running for 2 days
there were only 50 MB of free memory remaining.

Starting and stopping the SS4 service immediately freed up some 130MB??
We only monitor some 10-14 virtual web servers from IIS4 which are not very
busy. This bug is 100% reproducible.

I get no answer from Mediahouse if they are working on the problem.

Running NT4 server + SP3 + hotfixes.

Anyone having seen this?

Thanks,
Christian

I can confirm that I've had "memory leak" issues with SS4, but the GOOD
NEWS is that there are some "BETAs" going on right now that seem to
address that issue...

Hang tight! It's a fantastic package.

Hi,

I also like the program and I want to stay with it.
Hoping to see a fix for this issue soon. For the moment I am
starting and stopping SS4 service all night at 3:00AM to free
up the memory.

Hi.

I'm running NT4 w/ SP3.

I noticed that everytime I change something regarding the network, the
Enable IP Forwarding checkbox gets unchecked after a reboot.

Is there a way I can make it always checked ?

Hope somebody knows.

I host over 50 sites on SS4 on a Pentium-166 with 64 megs of RAM. No
problems here.

We are using the Web Counter component of IIS4 on two separate domains, but
the main site for both of these sites are using the exact same counter (and
thus the number are completely off). If I change the name of the page the
problem goes away (the problem is that index.asp is our default document).

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Thanks for any help!

well, you need to have some sort of routing protocol enabled. Add RIP
service, configure it and then enable IP forwarding. it will work like
that.

Hi all,

does anybody know a way to let web-customers set up password-secured
directories without giving access to SAM or NTFS specs?
They should be able to create a directory and/or files and specify
username/password lists who then can access their "premium-content"

P.S:: For use on WIN-NT with IIS4...

This seems to be my day for talking about Vircom (heh heh)...
http://www.vircom.com and check out a product called the VOP ISAPI
Filter. It allows you to set up, for your hosted customers) ODBC
Databases (and text files too) on a domain by domain basis... You could
use ASP to build a management system for the database too... (we use
Cold Fusion at my company for it)..
