This may sound typical, but I did not change anything that I can think =
of that would cause this error everywhere.

I get the dreaded "Error 380: Invalid property value" when I try to add =
a user, and this happens no matter what login I use. It appeared =
overnight.

Dale this goes for any server including my test server for emerald =
Beta's. I am totally baffled. I have tried to create a brand new emerald =
DB on the test server and install emerald clean and I still get this =
error. It even appears on my remote locations where I dial in and use =
emerald.

I thought the NT profile for my NT user had something wrong with it so I =
tried other users both priviledged and not all get the 380 error when =
trying to add users.

HELP!!!!

Any info would be more than appreciated.

Check all of your objects in your database. This error is typically
a result of not having a selection for your default group. Let me
see if I can clarify:

Lets say you have two groups, groupa and groupb. Now lets say you
have three services, all specifically for groupa, and groupb has no
services for it (including no services that are global or none for the
group selection). This scenario will give you the above error. This
isn't just for services, but also for regions, pay methods, pay periods,
discounts, etc. What I would do is go through each tab in the admin
that has a group option for it, and make sure ATLEAST one of the
choices on that tab has the global or none choice for the group. Then
it should allow you to add a group.

I am having trouble using some features of Emerald. We are usingv.2.1.11 and on one machine I tried to use the client on most thingsseem to work ok except the Accounts tab on the main Emerald screen isblank, I have tried different things with the accounts.rpt file as faras where it is located in the path, checked various settings in theEmerald Admin, Config Client area, and extensively searched the the listarchives but have not found a cure or this problem.

On another machine, I seem to have everything working OK, but want to beable to use the usercalls.rpt file found in the CR50 directory on theftp server. When trying to run this report initially I got an "Unableto load report" error. Tried replacing crpe32.dll and crystl32.ocx (inthe WinNT\system32 dir) with the newer version from the Emerald 2.2distribution. According to info found in the list archives this fixshould work and other people have had success with it (?) but nowEmerald generates an application error (access violation) whenever I tryto run any reports. Ideas?

"blank tab"......

Here is the text from the "tabctl32.txt" file on the Emerald FTP site....

===============================

Tab Control Problem

You may run into problems displaying the Accounts tab on the Emerald client and the Service Types tab in the Emerald Admin. The problem is with some versions of the tabctl32.ocx file which comes with several of the Microsoft development tools.

Microsoft has released a new version of the tabctl32.ocx. This file fixes the blank tab problem when installing a new version of RadiusNT, VB 5, or other packages.

To install the new tabctl32.ocx file, copy it into your system32 (NT) directory. Once you have copied it, register the new version by opening a command prompt, change to your system directory, and type:

regsvr32 tabctl32.ocx

==============================

A Tbctl32.OCX file is located on the Emerald FTP site.....

See the file:

ftp://ftp.iea-software.com/emerald/beta/Tabctl32.txt to correct the blank tab problem.

I would install Emerald 2.2 itself. Although its still in the betadirectory, its more widely used than Emerald 2.1 is. 2.2 includesmany fixes for reports and printing, as well as it includes theCR 5.0 engine.

I would guess the problem is that you didn't run regsvr32 to register the crystl32.ocx after you copied it into your systemdirectory. They are serialized, and you can't just replace thefile itself.
