Dear Dale:

Hello again. I have more questions for you.

1) Regarding to CISCO OnLine Calls, I followed your suggestions (repeat =20=
=20
the Server's entries for the LAN's IP addresses), but it worked only for =20
one NAS (200.16.186.222), which calls were displayed in the OnLine tab. =20
With the rest of the CISCOs happened the following:

a) One of them (200.16.186.237) was writing the events on the calls =20
table, but there was no way to watch them in the OnLine tab.

b) The other neither were looged into the calls table nor were showed in =20=
=20
the OnLine tab.

I am attaching a partial query of the Calls table to let you analyze teh =20=
=20
differences between the case of the 200.16.186.237 and the 200.16.186.222 =20=
=20
(PS look at the NASPortType column of the attached query). Besides, do =20
you have any other idea about the rest of the[[ CALLS0~1.RPT : 5674 en =20
CALLS0~1.RPT ]]CISCOs?

=20

2) When I try to perform a Summary on the Batch tab I get the following =20
message:

No consolidation needed

What does it mean? How can I get the consolidation so as to bill the =20
services?

3) I have implemented the email-only filter by using the =20
Ascend-DataFilter attribute. It works properly when you access the node =20
throught the MAX 4000, of course; but it doesn't work if you access using =20=
=20
one o the CISCOs. Does anyone know if CISCO IOS support such attributes, =20
and which version it is? I suppose that this filter may be built using =20
the standard RADIUS attributes. Is it correct?

Thank for your support.

created is still positive.

How do you have negative currency set up in Control Panel / Regional
Settings / Currency?
I think the way you enter in the charge has to be consistent with the above
settings.
Our settings are set at: -$1.1
So, when I enter in a negative charge (credit), I enter it in as (without
quotes) "-1.23". This is calculated as a negative value and shows up
everywhere else as a negative number, so everything works fine.

I am looking for some detail information about using some of the check boxes
that exist within Emerald. I am currently running 2.1.11.

First, the 'active' and 'new' check boxes in the Master screen. Should we
be checking 'new' when we add new customers. What is the purpose or options
that come with this box?

Next, there are three boxes in the services screen. I am looking for
information on how the 'new', 'current' and 'send bill' boxes work.

Last, there is an 'active' box for each service. How does this active box
affect billing and authentication? Does it work in conjunction with the
active box in the master accounts screen? Which box triggers whether or not
a bill is created?

Just trying to sort out our options here and learn how to use the system the
most efficiently. Any help would be appreciated.

Dale,

We wanted to have all the reports run from within the Emerald system. I am
unclear as to whether or not I can prompt a user for variables from within
the Emerald system.

Also, the only way I have been able to figure out a way to have a user pass
a variable with Crystal Reports is to use the ActiveX control within a VB
form. Is there another way?

Thanks

Crystal Reports intself has the ability for you to define parameters and
query the user for them when the report is run. Therefore nothing is
required
on the Emerald side for this.

You can not have Emerlad prompt the users, but Crystal itself can as I noted below. Emerald would launch the report and before it displaysanything, the report woudl ask for the variables. > Also, the only way I have been able to figure out a way to have a user pass> a variable with Crystal Reports is to use the ActiveX control within a VB> form. Sure there is, but I don't know the relevance to it?

Active is whether the MBR is active (can authenticate and will be billed) ornot. New is used for External systems. You can ignore it if you don't havean ES configured. Emerald itself will handle managing the new and currentcheck boxes, so you don't have to do anything there.

> Next, there are three boxes in the services screen. I am looking for> information on how the 'new', 'current' and 'send bill' boxes work.

Again, new and current are for ES and you can mainly ignore them. Emeraldwill handle them as needed. When you have an MBR which is configured forEMail, you have to have atleast one service with the send bill option checked, since that tells Emerald what Email address to send the bill to. Eachservice will receive a copy of the bill in email. > Last, there is an 'active' box for each service. How does this active box> affect billing and authentication? If the service is not active, they are not billed for it and it can notauthenticate. BOTH of the active flags must be checked in order for theservice to be billed and authentication.

I'm not sure about your last question. If an MBR is active and has atleastone active service, it will be billed.

As I understand it, the built in Calls Consolidation in Emerald ver. 2.1.11does not work correctly. Is there an SQL script available that I can run tocorrectly consolidate calls?

Thanks,Greg

Well, I'm no expert on Emerald by any means, but we have the different "types"(renewal, invoice, CC, etc.). Seems like it'd be possible to use a different"type". Maybe not, now that I think about it.

Regarding "saving the laser printer", I've decided that it's probably no morecostly to print the masthead in the printer than get them pre-printed. YMMV;we're pretty low production here.
