I know that there is a memory leak of sorts in the Max's. This usually only
affects ISDN users since they are using MPP to bind both ISDN channels.
With the leak, you sometimes have to manually reboot the max to free up and
release IPs and channels. Im not sure if this is the same problem but it
sounds like it may be related. There was a notice on it on the Ascend
website under the release notes for the new COMOS 6.0x
