Hi,

we are using radius 2.5.105 and there some times where our portmasters allocates the same NAS IP address to the dial-up user .....any ideas about this problem .....

currently the Radius assigns the IP pool, do you think that I should let the NASsau do that instead

Hi,

Every night I backup the server where I have Emerald, Radius, and SQL =
onto a Data Tape.
I copy all of the hard drive contents onto the tape except the directory =
where MSSQL is located and the Registry.

If for some reason everything in my server was erased, could I
1) restore all of the files on the tape backup to the server, then=20
2) reinstall SQL
and then have Emerald, Radius, and SQL work smoothly and properly?

If not, how would you suggest backing up the Emerald/Radius/SQL system?

Thank you,
Adam Greene

I remember some nasty ComOSbugs a while back that caused things like this. RadiusNT isn't assigningthe IP pool, its just telling the PM to assign an address from thePM's pool (which is the default if a Framed-Address attribute is notincluded or is set to 255.255.255.254). You have to configure the poolon the PM. You might want to make sure you have enough entries in yourpool (the laster ComOS releases allow you to change the length).-- Dale E.
