I have an account that hasn't had an invoice created for it. The Expire
date is 5/25, but it doesn't matter what I set it to, attempting "Invoice
Next Term" gives me "No new Invoices to Create!".

The Pd. Thru date is 5/25/98, last received is 4/16/98.

What do I do to clear this up and get it generating invoices again?

TIA: <<Jim>>

Hi All,

I tried to upgrade serv-u from emer_su.dll to the new emerauth.dll and
serv-u reports that it cannot load or find emerauth.dll. This was working
fine with the previous emer_su.dll. I added the reg entries from the docs
and created the storedproc verifyftpuser. I also added the homedirlimit
column in the db.

Does anyone have any ideas? Is this working anywhere?

TIA
Ray Carpenter

Hi,
The EmerAuth.dll loads ok on my installation but, as soon as serv_u tries to
auth a user it crashes serv_u ?
Anyone solved this problem ?
The Auth log does not give any clues as far as I can see.

The reg entries have been added as per doc...
Thanks

I'm not using "emerauth.dll" at the moment, but you'll have to change the
following:
c:\Program Files\Serv-U\Serv-u.ini
[EXTERNAL]
ClientCheckDLL1=c:\progra~1\emerald\emerauth.dll
(or emer_su.dll if you're using one of the older versions)

Stop/restart the Serv-U service (if you have it running as one).

I had changed that before. Still does not work.

Subject: NTMail Authentication not working
From: Thomas Massano <ThomasM@InletCorp.com>
Date: Thu, 18 Jun 1998 16:44:21 -0400

I am having problems authenticating NTMAIL to emerald.
This is a new installation of emerald 2.2.
I have an Ascend box, and servu, authenticating okay to the emerald/sql
server.

In the Emerald DB I have created an external System of NTMail Auth DLL type.
Changed all of the service types to reflect the external system to NTMail
Auth.

On the NTMAIL server I added the userdlllocation to the registry of ntmail.
Copied the emer_ntm.dll to the NTMAIL directory.
Installed radiusnt 2.5 and configured it for ODBC.
Added the ESID registry value of 1 to the radius registry. I do not know if
this is it for sure, but it was the only external i created, so i guessed
it must be 1.
Also changed the user name to sa and gave it the appropriate password.
Created an ODBC System DSN called Radius and pointed it to the SQL server.

I apologize i have no idea how to trace the odbc to see if it is working.
But i set it up exactly like i did on the serv-u ftp server and that one
works. The ntmail works if i create a user in ITs user DB. I am using the
same user id and pass i used to test the ascend and the serv-u.

How could I test each component to see where the failure is, the radlogin
works from the ntmail machine also.

I also tried the emerauth.dll. Also dale you mentioned the registry entries
are different for these, i just compared the two readme's and i dont see
the difference.

HELP!!

TIA

Thomas

Open up isql_w and run this query. You are looking for the
ExternalSystemID field for the NTMail entry:

Select * From ExternalSystems

Did you configure the ODBCDataSource registry entry to point to that
DSN? Does RadiusNT run against the database correctly?

Define a "logfile" in the registry and the emer_ntm.dll will write
relevant information to that for debugging. That should help a lot.

See the emerauth.doc file. It has all the registry information in it.

Check to see if there is an invoice with an end date afterthe expire date. Also, make sure its Active, has activeservices, and has a pament method of renewal or CC.

Can anybody give an opinion on how much bandwidth they think would be =consumed doing a live replication of the Emerald DB over a WAN link ? In =our case we would be replicating data for about 5000 users (500 access =ports).

Would 128k (ISDN) cut it ??

That would take a while to replicate. To keep it (assuming you are notreplicating the calls table) would be fairly easily and should workover a 128k link.-- Dale E. We have it running for just on 7000 users, simply replicating the required tables for authentication. Note that it is not necessary to replicate all the tables, if you are only using it for authentication.Regards, Graeme---Graeme Slogrove, BSc (Eng) Elec (Wits)FastLight Data Distribution cchttp://www.fdd.netTel: +27-(0)11-706-0212 Fax: +27-(0)11-706-0812
