When I check and save "Incremental Batch," the selection is not retained.
However, if I select "no time charges" and recall the preferences,
"Incremental Batch" is checked and "no time charges" is not.

Can I assume that checking "no time charges" is actually activating
"Incremental Batch?" Also, the manual does not explain the purpose of "no
time charges" and "don't verify reports." Please explain these options.

Well. the Max is set to that port for accounting, the timeout is right. But
the online calls section still says 0 users on 0 term severs. Is there
anything else I might be missing?

I was referring to the emerald docs on line call monitor ing section, where
it just says ask your network administrator.

That must be the problem.
You must enter the date the invoices were generated on the Batch Tab.
Emerald will look for Invoices that were created on the date you enter on
the Batch tab.

From: Jeff Woods <jwoods@delta.com>

Emerald was open last night, functioning properly.

I tried to run a batch invoice run this morning. It CREATED the batches
fine, so it said (and an SQL query shows this to be true). However, when I
tried to print the batch, I was told that I did not have logon permissions
to do so! (I was logged on as SA at the time!) "Self," I said to myself,
"it looks like you need to reboot your workstation.

After rebooting, I got "Error loading from file" when trying to load
Emerald. I can't get into Emerald at all now. (I also rebooted the SQL
server at the same time, just in case).

RadiusNT is still running fine, authenticating and accounting. I can run
SQL Enterprise Manager, and view the databases and make queries from this
workstation. Emerald is not installed on any other workstations, but I
imagine that it WOULD work from there.

I believe that a program I installed yesterday overwrote a critical library
needed by Emerald. Which one, I don't know.

Dale, can you tell me which library being replaced could cause this error,
and where I can find the one YOU require, before Friday morning when I have
to finish this billing cycle?

I spoke to the author of the offending program, which DOES do database
accesses of its own, and he claimed these are the DLL files (all *.DLL)
that he installs:

MSVBVM50
OLEAUT32
OLDPRO32
ASYCFILT
MSC40
MSJET35
MSJTR35
MSJINT35
VBAJET32
VBAR332
MSRD2X35
MSREPL35
VB5DB
DAO350
COMCAT

Emerald 2.1.11 on Win95.

Thanks!

Okay I have insured that the following is true.

Our term server is set up in the Emerald Admin Config under Radius Config.
I have set the prots to 48, I have isnured that it is using the proper port
in the MAX as well. I re-ported the config as well just to make sure.
Still I get nothing in Emerald under On Line Calls. Are there any other
settings I need to put in radius, Emerald, or the MAX? I am running version
2.11.1 of emerald.

Thanks.

Does the customer's MBR have the "Active" box checked?

Are there ANY services with the "Active" box checked, associated with the
MBR?

-------------

If the above both answer yes....

Does this customer have ANY other invoices outstanding? Go to the
INVOICES tab, put the user's name or login there, and UNCHECK "Unpaid
only invoices". Click SEARCH. All past invoices for the customer
should show up. (If they don't, you typed int he login or name
incorrectly -- try again until the old invoices show up -- I'm assuming
there are prior invoices, not a new customer).

Once the invoice list is up, THEN put a check on "Show unpaid invoices
only". Do NOT hit CLEAR before doing this.

Click search again.

If any invoices remain in the list, they must be PAID prior to Emerald
creating a NEW invoice for that customer.

someone know how to do it with Emerald? Will it be integrated in the version

We are trying to process credit cards for the first time. We are using

When we select BatchIn and click OK to the 3 transactions processed message,
we receive a "three errors encountered" message. Attached is the batchin.dat

Hi Bill.

I don't have an answer to your problem. However, please take it for what's
worth, don't pass out valid credit card numbers and expiration dates on a
mailing list.

Take care.

We are trying to process credit cards for the first time. We are using
ICVerify. The BatchOut worked and the charges were submitted and approved.
When we select BatchIn and click OK to the 3 transactions processed message,
we receive a "three errors encountered" message. Attached is the batchin.dat
file from ICVerify. Does anyone know what's wrong?

Subject: Emerald won't run today, Take III
From: Jeff Woods <jwoods@delta.com>
Date: Wed, 03 Jun 1998 16:19:47 -0400

Didn't see a followup, so perhaps the list bounced me yet again. Last
attempt at this via this forum.....

Thanks!

The typical reason for this is because you moved the expiration
date of the MBR back, and not have an overlapping billing cycle.
You must either void the overlapping invoice, or move the expiration
date to the enddate of the last invoice for it to bill the customer.
Use the history tab on the MBR, find the last invoice, and check the
end date. Then compare that to the expire date. The exipre date
MUST be latter (or equal to) that end date.

Dale/All

Dale, you were right per our conversation that the dates were overlapping. For anyone interested, here is the script I wrote that lists the offendinginvoices.if this turns up your invoices your problem is overlap.

//**************************************************************select i.invoiceid, i.customerid, i.startdate, i.enddate, ma.maexpiredate, i.sentdate, p.date, i.amount

from invoices i, masteraccounts ma, invoiceitems ii, payments p

where i.customerid=ma.customerid and i.enddate>ma.maexpiredate and (ii.invoiceid=i.invoiceid and ii.paymentid<>null) and ii.paymentid=p.paymentid

order by i.invoiceid

//**************************************************************The offending invoices can be changed with an UPDATE Statement that setsi.startdate=DATEADD(month,-1,ma.maexpiredate) and setsi.enddate=ma.maexpiredate

This does assume that all the offending invoices are for a one month periodand will require some minor adjustment if this is not the case.

Here is a fun one for all of you.

1. Went to the Batch tab in Emerald 2.2.382. Put in a date of the 17th of June and an Invoice Type of Renewal3. Created the invoices(so far, no problems: Created a bunch of Invoices)4. Set the date to Todays Date5. Selected Print6. The Invoice Report (CR Screen) Flashed up, disappeared, and a little boxappeared saying "SQL Error"

Now, before anyone asks, I am running CR 6.0 and it is installed on the sameworkstation. The report will run from inside crystal reports.I even went so far as to go to the FTP site and download the CR60Invoice.rpt file and replace my rpt file in case I changed something in thereport that was a booboo. Results??? (See above :)

Hmmmmmmmmm..............

P.S. If I go into CR60 and set the Selection Criteria to check the InvoiceDate=date(xxxx,x,x) and isnull(sentdate) the report still runs from withinCR.If I add Type="Renewal" to the criteria I get and ODBC DriverIncapable............

Only batch-out is supported for ICverify with that version.2.5 will have added the batch-in portion.

Emerald is trying to verify/create the user's Home Directory, andthe machine/user Emerald is running on doesn't have access to the path.

Open up a DOS prompt and do a dir of the path and it willshow this.

Also, do some debugging in the max and see what is going on...also,you may want to run radiusnt in debug mode as well.

Just in case you didn't know in the max go into full access mode theninto debug mode CTRL-D then hit D for debug mode.

Once in debug mode type RADIF this will turn on radius debug mode inhe MAX.

You should be more careful about sending your customers credit card numbersto a mailing list. :O It looks like the cards are all for the administratoruser? Is that correct? Shouldn't the users login names be listed? I don'treally know, but this is just a guess!

Dale/IEA,

This looks VERY nice so far. (Dale, I'm still waiting for the fixed versionof RadiusNT - post 116) I am thinking about deploying this release intoproduction next week. There are still some issues with E2.5/RNT2.5 which are:

1. In Radlogs, the NASIdentifier, NASPort, CallerID are always blankbecause RadiusNT isn't inserting anything.

2. In Emerald, on the Rad Log screen, clicking on the header doesn't sortthe contents of that field: Date, Username, Description, etc...

3. In On-Line, it would be nice if Emerald also displayed the CallerIDfield if available. I can add it to the trigger and view.

4. TSGraph always says that there are 0 calls so it doesn't graph much! :P(Yes there are calls in the calls table!)

I'm still reading the docs trying to get a handle on exactly how 2.5 worksbefore I report things that I think are bugs that I simply don't understandyet. The billing looks better, but far more confusing! ,) Overall, a MAJORupdate. It looks like it makes Emerald everything we want it to be. We'llsee how the billing works later this month.

A few more...

* In the SubAccount, Services Tab, Time On gives a "Error in SQL Statement"message.

* Debug mode doesn't work. I tried to look at the SQL statement above, butit doesn't show anything.

* The top level menu changes when a subaccount is open. This is REALLYannoying since I need to close whatever I'm in to check anything else. Notto mention that the interface is very logical except for this aberration.Everything else allows switching between sub-windows.
