Hi all
I'm having some problems with the users access via Emerald. When an user
intent connect to our system before 7:00 PM, the Emerald software
authenticates the user with no problem, but after that hour (> 7 PM) there
are some users that can't get connected via Emerald. I don't know whats the
problem or if Emerald have some time restrictions. I was searching is the
users paameters and I didn't find anything about it.

Can you guys help me with this?

Thanks in advance.

Rafael Gomez

Hi Dale,
I had a request from one of my tech support guys for a new feature in
Emerald.
They were wondering if it would be possible to add something that pops up
when
you open an expired or in active account that states exactly that.
Something like an "OK" dialog box that says "Sub Account Username" is
expired.
or "Sub Account Username" is inactive.
And an option that allows this feature to be turned on or off.

Thanks
Will ,,,=^. .^=,,,

Do you have Server Access enabled in RadiusNT? By default no
Server Access is defined and it is not enabled. That is the only
thing that could be causing a timed rejection.

List, When I put in a session - timeout my users can stay connected for more than5 mins. They are disconnected because of an "idle-timeout". I have thefollowing defaults setup:

User-Service = Framed-user Framed-protocol = PPP Idle-timeout = 1800 Session-timeout = 43200

Are these in the correct order? Why would this cause a problem?

List, This problem is related to something else.

List, I think I sent a message about this problem this morning. The majority ofmy users can't connect for more than 5 mins. They are disconnecting becauseof idle-timeouts. This started happening last night at 6:00 with no changesto Emerald.

I also noticed that my database is full. I have 300 users in a 120mBdatabase and its full.

I have had Lucent tech support check out my PM3 and I'm having Pacific Belllook at the PRI lines.

Looks like the problem is in Emerald. It looks like its telling the userthere idle timeout is under 10 mins. I'm running radius at the command linewith the -x15 option. Idle-timeout 1800 is being sent to the users. Anyideas? I'm loosing hair by the hand full ; )

I have a suggestion to see if the problem lies in emerald or ODBC or Radius,Have you tried running Radius / Emerald in text mode for a few hours with anexported users file instead of ODBC?-----Original Message-----From: Robert H.
