Whenever I go to 'add a counter' in performance monitor, it crashes, or
rather it shuts down. After trying various things I decided to do a
reinstall during my routine down time.
I reinstalled :
- NT Server 4.0
- BindNT by software.com
- MailSite by rockliffe software
- RadiusNT by iea
on a Pentium Pro 180 with 64MB RAM
and then tested the performance monitor. It worked fine. I then reinstalled
Service Pack 3 and boom, no more performance monitor.
Now, I have another NT server running SQL server that has SP3 on it and I
can use the Performance monitor just fine. So, I don't think it's SP3 that
causes the problem but how SP3 reacts with some of the other s/w load on
this machine.
Has anyone else had this problem?
