After you create a new zone, inside that zone create an A record pointing to
your mail server. Also create a MX record with "host name" blank and the
"mail exchange server DNS name" set to mail.domain.com (or whatever that A
record you created was called).

In order to receive mail you have to make sure your DNS and domain are
registered with InterNIC.

There's a lot more to DNS, but there's the answer to your question. I had
questions before and It only frustrated me when people replied telling me to
read the "dns bind" book. That's not the purpose of this list-serv

Subject: DNS question

hi all

I use DNS server for NT 4.0. I want to setup a domain name under my domain
to be used for mail.
I ask if I just need A & MX reccords or another thing to do?
