ODBC won't read file w/ long names

In Crystal Reports 4.5, I tried to use as my table a text file ( named
WebSenseStats.log ) via ODBC ( 3.x ).

I got an error saying ODBC error : [Microsoft][ODBC Text Driver]Invalid
string or buffer length.

I did a lot of testing and I found out that ODBC couldn't use a file w/ a
long name.

Is there a fix to this ?
