Although I'm very used to it for a long time now, one of my users complais
of a "flickering" that happens each time after the Windows 95 ( blue sky )
stratup screen and before she's prompted for the network password.
Note that there's only 1 flicker now.
Before, there were several flickers. I traced these flickers to error
messages resulting from the commands executed in autoexec.bat. Since then,
I have commented them out. I've also put an @ECHO OFF in the first line of
When I was down to 2 flickers, I added a blank config.sys.
Now there's only 1 flicker left.
I know the cause is not in autoexec.bat anymore since it only executes
McAfee's Virscan, after which I put a PAUSE command.
Any ideas on how to get rid of this flicker ?
Is there a way to tell Windows 95 not to look for autoexec.bat and
config.sys anymore ?
