How about looking into RadiusNT ( http://www.iea-software.com ). RadiusNT
2.2 has lots of features like authenticating from the NT user database and
it can interface with any ODBC data source. This means you can keep you do
authentication and accounting from a database which is far better than
using text files.
Version 1.16.60 is free and I use it in ODBC mode and I get to save all my
user's login and logoff info. And I made an ASP page where my users can, by
themselves, check their own login / logoff times and even the total. You
can also disallow concurrent user logins. And there's also timebanking.
However, you can't authenticate via the NT user database. Only 2.2 and
higher can do that. Version 2.2 is commercial ( sells for $495 I think ).
Btw, Dale Reed - the guy who made it provides good support for it. They've
also got a tightly integrated billing system named Emerald. It's in the
same web site I mentioned earlier.
Hmmm. This is beginning to sound like a SPAM. But hey, I'm not in any way
