I could fix the problem. It was the ODBC-driver. IIS 4.0 installed a =
new ODBC driver for ACCESS. After I removed the old driver (which worked =
well under IIS 3.0) and reinstalled my datasources with the new driver =
everything is working well. Maybe it was a language problem - my old =
driver was german also IIS 3.0.

Btw. I don't think that reinstalling service pack 3 is necessary. I =
didn't do that and everything runs well.
As you mentioned, I first removed IIS 3.0 and then installed IIS 4.0. =
It was a lot of work, because all the permissons on my 25 virtual =
Frontpage webs were killed. Thanks M$ for that good upgrade procedure!
Oh, I forgot: Indexserver is running on a PDC. It just took about 1 hour =
for indexing about 20.000 documents on a dual PPRO 200 / 128 MB. So I =
would recommend first to stop the indexserver and then configure only =
those directories you really need.

Have you re-installed Service Pack 3 and all the hotfixes?=20
=20
Did you install over the top of 3.0 or start fresh. I've seen a lot =
of discussion in this group noting that upgrading 3.0 simply does nto =
work, that you have to start fresh.

Last night I installed IIS 4.0 on my production server. Took me =
half the nihgt because I made some mistakes, but this is another story. =
My major Problem is that all my ASP - pages with access to Database (MS =
ACCESS) don't work. All these pages worked without any problems on IIS =
3.0. Now if I ran these pages inetinfo.exe fails with a dr. watson. If I =
run this website as an isolated process I get the following error in the =
browser: "The server has reached the maximum recovery limit for the =
application during the processing of your request. Please contact the =
server administrator for assistance."
=20
I feel that this has to do with transaction server, but I don't =
know where to start.
=20
Please help!
