ODBC not working right

I am using NT4.0 and Access97 with a Cisco 2511.
When testing the authentication (using radlogin) the ODBC mode works just
fine. But then when I try to make a dial-up connection I get the "User Not
Found" error and I can look at the decrypted password and see that it is
gibberish. I have found the listed solution, that the secret is bad at one
end, and have confirmed that the secrets do match but it still won't work.

In text mode everything works fine on both testing and dial-up.
