The windows 95 setup guide I sent out to about 50 people is infected with
the MDMA virus. This infection took place sometime between our Monday
morning scan and today. The virus is easy to get rid of, just run Norton
and clean the file. However, to aviod a headache, delete my file and I
will post a clean copy to my webserver for everyone to download Monday.
The virus will NOT do anything until July 1st, so we should all be safe.
It only infects MS WORD documents but can be lethal when it gets pissed.

I'm sorry for any problems I caused anyone, this was completely
unintentional and I really am tight about viruses.

Now for wading through the 100+ machines I have contact with to make sure
nobody else is infected :)

MDMA

Aliases:WM.MDMA,WordMacro.MDMA,StickyKeys
Synopsis: Infector of MS Word Documents/Templates
Symptoms: Message box
Details:
This virus infects users of MS Word. It infects the global macros (file
NORMAL.DOT). Any
document saved will become infected with MDMA. MDMA contains only one macro
(encrypted)
AutoClose. On the first day of any month, MDMA will display a message box
announcing that you
are infected with "MDMA_DMV. Brought to you by MDMA (Many Delinquent Modern
Anarchists)." At the same time MDMA tries to corrupt the system files. It
does this in different ways
depending upon the version of the operating environment. Under Windows, it
replaces the
AUTOEXEC.BAT file with commands to delete all directories.
