I need to get ideas on the best way to upgrade our NT 4.0 server. Here is
the senerio:
Old Server:
NT 4.0 SP1
2Gig IDE Hard drive
96 Megs Ram
P120
New Server:
NT 4.0 SP2
2Gig Fast Wide SCSI2 Hard Drive
96 Megs Ram
P133
What I want to do is get all the data (including the registry, IP addresses,
Netbios computer Name, etc) from the old server to the new server. I don't
mind taking the new server back to NT 4.0 SP1 and then adding SP2 back on
after the transfer.
It would be nice to be able to do this without taking the old server off of
the internet while I do that transfer, but I will if I have to.
I am interested to hear your suggestions.
