Increasing Main Database Size

I am trying to increase the main database size.
When I check the size in enterprise manager
it shows up as -714 megabytes. Anyone have
any ideas how I can increase the size ? I had
some mail telling me it had to do with a bug in
SQL that causes this to happen when you have
more then two gigs of hard drive space which I
have. But I sure would like to know the remedy.
