Mabee I got lucky, but, (everyone has a but) I took the SQL Server CD
home. Installed the client utils on my Win95 machine. Installed
Emerald, set up a system DSN, (just like at the office). Logged into my
Portmaster (PPP) just like everyone else. Registered the database with
Enterprise Manager. Started Emerald and WALA, it worked.

The Second time I installed SQL Server I enabled TCP/IP and it still
worked.
