Hi,

I've been plauged by my company's dial-in server for some time now.

I have a Zyxel RS-1602E rack mount using U-228RE with
comtrol32 multipot serial card using 16 lines running on
a NT v4 with SP3 using RAS aka steelhead.

"Most" users with older modems like 28.8 has no problem
dialing in in etc. mail, web . .

Others who are using the newer modem would hear constantly hear a
long continuous beep/tone as the modem try to negotiate a connection but
couldn't. The users haven't even get to the logon prompt yet.

I was told to check "what protocol type for my
modem connection, if there is V.34 mode on the
center site, it won't connect successful if remote site uses
V.32 mode and to setup multi-auto mode for
answering remote calling."

I have no idea what that means and how do I set it.

Any advice would be apprecaited.

TIA.

Best Rgds,
