As I noted earlier, one thing you have to take into consideration is the
state of the indexes. Upgrading to SQL 7 forces a rebuild of all
indexes,
which can in itself, dramatically speed up the processing. However,
SQL 7's writing is incredibly faster than 6.5 was.
