Whats new in RadiusNT/X v5
Performance and Managability improvements for Wireless, VPN and VOIP
Support for processing multiple authentication requests concurrently. |
Accounting spooler transaction performance improvements. |
Packet replay improves performance over congested networks and improves consistency of accounting data by better detecting duplicate requests. |
Option to limit authentication query execution time. This allows use of alternate authentication sources in the event a database server does not respond in time to a request. |
With few exceptions server configuration changes take effect immediately without requiring a server restart. |
All local configuration options can be overridden by settings stored in a central database. |
Features
EAP / wireless 802.1X support for the following protocols:
- EAP-MD5
- EAP-LEAP (Cisco wireless)
- EAP-PEAP v0 and v1 (Microsoft and IETF (Cisco) implementations)
- EAP-GTC
- PEAP-MSCHAPv2
- PEAP-GTC

Expanded attribute / VSA support, we've nearly doubled the number of
vendors avaliable in our default dictionary in addition to supporting new
features of existing vendors. New datatypes are now supported such as
IPv6 and Redback 64-bit integers. |
Support for SMD5 and SSHA stored passwords provide improved security and database compatibility. |
LDAP authentication support for bind DN or password attribute. |
Attribute filtering allows complex rules for modifying attributes and
making decisions based on attributes coming in, going out or proxied
through RadiusNT/X. They can also direct accounting data to an alternate
'Calls' table. |
Alternate failure profiles allow bad requests to be acknowledged with a
custom set of attributes. This allows the configuring of limited network
access for customers whos accounts may have lapsed or need to pay for
additional network access. |
Updated database schema supports new features and simplifies
integration. RadiusNT v5 is backwards compatible with all Version 3 and 4
databases and local configurations. Database updates for previous
versions are only required to take advantage of new features.
Intelligent database interface
Dynamic parameter checking allows authentication stored procedure full access to RADIUS attributes. |
All internal queries are documented and configurable through the
administrative web interface. They allow complete control over the ODBC
database interface and make integration with third-party databases easy. |
Compatibility
RadiusNT/X now supports two of the most popular open source databases MySQL and PostgreSQL. |
Native FreeBSD distribution. |
CISCO VOIP accounting. |
New Radlogin test client included
Best of both worlds, send queries from the command line or a web based interface. |
User defined fields, built-in counters, random variables, addresses and session IDs. |
Attribute profiles allow you to store multiple sets of authentication or accounting requests for various purposes. |
Validating packet decoder converts raw RADIUS packets into an easy to read format. |
Server monitoring with email pager notification and uptime statistics. |
