We have a NT server running IIS 4.0. It works great. However, we would =
like to upgrade the system to something a little faster with more drive =
space. We have a completely new server ready to go. How can we migrate =
all of the data, and more importantly all of the settings from the =
previous server? I tried removing the hard drive from the old server =
and installing it in the new server. NT would crash with a blue screen =
upon bootup. I thought NT was supposed to detect hardware upon bootup =
and work with just about anything. Both servers have the same network =
card, same video card, and same SCSI controller. Therefore any devices =
that need a specific device driver for NT are the same in both servers. =
The only real difference is the new server is a dual processor.=20

I can't afford to loose all the IIS settings. I don't want to have to =
reinstall the 100+ virtual servers installed, and I don't want to have =
to re setup all the special permissions on some of the directories for =
IIS. =20

Recommendations?

Thanks,

Steve Coleman
