Hi Danny,
You can get the AS from www.arin.net, but you have to fill a request form
indicating that you're multihomed or that you have a diferent routing policy
than your upstream provider.
"IP Space" means a block of IP addresses i.e 200.16.228.0/24 (Class C), or
200.16.228.0/20(200.16.228.0 to 200.16.239.255)

Regards, Pablo

Subject: [NTISP] BGP newbie questions

Hello.

I'm just starting to learn BGP.

Someone told me that to do BGP, I need my own AS number and IP space.

I read that I can get an AS number from InterNIC. Exactly how do I apply for
one ? Where in their website do I request for one ? What are the
requirements ?

What does "IP Space" mean ?
