I just bought a used USR Netserver 16 with firmware version 3.x .
It answers all calls faithfully, but everytime it authenticates against
RadiusNT 1.16.60 and sends accounting packets to it, RadiusNT crashes.
So I decided to upgrade the firmware to version 4.1.7 and see what happens.
The problem is, after a failed dialup attempt to any port in the Netserver,
it won't allow any more calls. I set the Netserver to debug mode (show
events) and it says something about "PPP : UNKNOWN compression" .
I applied the 2 service releases that were reported to fix this failure to
answer calls, but it doesn't seem to work.
The latest service release is 4.1.77 dated December 3, 1998.
Should I have set dip switch # 4 down to erase the flash configuration
before I applied the service releases ?
What could be the solution ?
Does anybody here have RadiusNT 1.16.49 ? I heard it wasn't as broken as
1.16.60 .
