LMSSP is an Operating System service, you cannot delete/install that specific
service very easily. If that service is no longer available then something went
wrong with your upgrades. You might be able to do a Repair installation and fix
it, but then reapply all the service packs.

Subject: [NTISP] NTLMSSP problem

Hi,
Problem is this: I installed a software upgrade for my mail program. (NT
4.0 SP3) after completing the installation I tried to restart the services.
I got an "error code 1075, The dependency service does not exist or is
marked for deletion" I looked in the event viewer and found that all of my
mail services depend on NTLMSSP which normally starts as a service, but
somehow is no longer on my machine (go figure) Anyway, after that I tried
removing the TCP/IP protocol and reinstalling it, then I removed my entire
network configuration and reinstalled it. Still do not have the NTLMSSP
service in the service manager and all mail flow has ceased through my
server. This happened at 9:00am EST today, it is now noon, and as you can
imagine...customers are beginning to call.

My question is: does anybody know how to reinstall the NTLMSSP service on a
NT 4.0 server? I've looked through the Microsoft site, it explains in great
detail what it is, what it does and what it comes with, but nothing on
installing it.

Thanks in advance
