When configuring SQL Server, is the "tempdb in ram" value part of the RAM
allocated in the "memory" section or is it a different chunck of RAM? In
other words, if I have SQL Server set to use 150MB RAM ("memory" = 75000),
and set "tempdb in ram" to use 40MB, is that 40 part of the 150 or no?

Dual Pentium 200, 256MB RAM
SQL Server 6.5 SP4 (soon to be 5)
