I don't think that this is Caroline's main concern - more that she is
going to loose custom to Cable modem services. One possibility would be
to ask, domestically of course, your local cable co what their cable
modem plans are and ask a few geeky questions - make it seem like =
you're
an anorak user.

It's funny that you're seeing Cable companies as a threat - here in the
UK the latest threat is free ISPs. As we pay for local calls some of =
the
telcos have set up ISPs and make enough money from their share of the
local call rate that they can totally fund the ISP this way.
