Dale:

Because ExpirationDate is not used by my organization and is NULL in all
cases, we didn't think that anything needed to be present in Extension in
order to authenticate users. Once I figured it out, I just filled all
occurrences of the field with 0 and then everything worked fine.

I don't know if this is his problem, but I know this had me banging my head
against the wall for a couple of days. I suppose this is one of the perils
one faces when importing data from other sources into the RADIUS dataset.

Would there be any situation where RADIUS would actually need to check
Extension once it's been determined that ExpirationDate is NULL?
