I am forced to rebuild my FTP server. The C drive died on the last one. I
have the Emerauth.dll installed in Serv-U and I have put in the path to the
networked drive in Emerald Adm. When someone tries to log on they get
denied. The Serv-U log says "Can not find the home directory". The FTP
program will say verifying username and password and they seem to work fine
with Emerald. Then the FTP program will say can not log on.
I thought Emerald would create a user directory in the specified path. We
set up the "Default User" also.

If you're using Serv-U 2.5a or newer, you cannot use UNC paths
(\\server\users\whoever). Serv-U 2.5 does work with UNC paths. The funny
thing is, this is not a bug in Serv-U 2.5a. The inability to use UNC paths
was actually a bug-fix. For whatever reason, the author of Serv-U doesn't
allow the use of UNC paths even as an option in Serv-U 2.5a or newer. It's
a good thing I still have the installation software for the original 2.5.
