The typical cause of this is assigning the user an IP that isn't on
the local ethernet of the PM or PR. At that point it turns into a
routing problem.

I had this problem and the way to resolve it EASILY was to turn on RIP on myRouter and RIP on my modem Chassis. After that Class Cs became a Breeze toset up.

I had the same problem. Tell the user to not put the static address ineither place just log in as usual and all will work fine. Apparently thereis something about the timing, he is asking for an address and the Nasthinks it has already assigned it (maybe) In any case this works for me.

Some terminal servers don't allow the client to request an address,EVEN IF its the address the terminal server is going to assign. The LCP during that is like to little kids fighting for a piece ofcandy and is prety funny (from a twisted technical point of view).

I'm trying to test Radius 2.5 and my server will not authenticate users. It can't find them after the select to query to see if it's in thesubaccount table, there is an error that is returned:

ODBC Error:22005:0: Invalid character value for cast specification.

Any ideas on this?

George

I found out the reason for this error. I tried to change the type ofAccountID from int to varchar (setting it the same as the login id). Thereason I did this was because I wrote a stored procedure to add accounts tomy radius database. The when the stored procedure inserts a row intosubaccounts, the identity column (accountid) isn't incremented correctly.Does anyone know how I can insert a row into subaccounts using a storedprocedure?

Thanks

George

You can't do that. The accountID MUST be an integer. Its used inchecking the RadConfigs table in the authentication.

Just use the old fashion:

INSERT INTO SubAccounts(field1, ...) VALUES(field1, ...)

statement. Maybe I missed the original issue?
