Currently, its can't. IMHO, its best for the NAS to
handle IP Allocation, since you can run into some intersting
technical issues with RADIUS server side IP allocation.

Dale

I believe that I have setup RadiusNT correctly. I can create user accountsand when I use the radlogin -x15 from the dos prompt, it responds well. Icreated a dump of the parameter settings from the Bay RAC and tried todetermine which one's I need to change. some of the one's I found were...

pref_secure1_host which I set to the ip address of the radiusNT serverenable_protocol set to radiusradius_secret set to the same secret on the radiusNT clients filesmade sure that the auth_port and the acct_port were set correctly.

Are there any others that I need to concern myself with??

When I reboot the Bay RAC, I see a response from radiusNT server (doswindow). When I try to login using a username/password valid or not, itstill allows me access ... It seems to be ignoring the user database.

I assume that the server file contains the ip address of the radiusNTserver with the secret same as set in the clients file and on the RAC.

I guess I would like to see generic (basic) settings so I can get itworking and auth names.

thanks for the help

Mike

I=B4m using RadiusNT2.5 and SQL Server. I've created the tables using theradiusnt.sql script that's in IEA Software FTP server. The Calls table is not being updated. When i Run radius -x15

I see the following error:

SQL Statement: INSERT INTO Calls(CallDate,NASIdentifier,NASPort,UserName,AcctStatusType,AcctSessionId,AcctDelayTime) VALUES (GetDate(),'200.32.15.238',3,'mauro',1,'00000089',20)

ODBC Error:23000:2627: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Violation of PRIMARY KEYconstraint 'pk_Calls': Attempt to insert duplicate key in object 'Calls'.

There is another (older) entry in the Database with the same AcctSessionId.

Dale,

i'm not too happy about the fact that you've changed the timeleft fromseconds to minutes.

I don't know when this has happened but using seconds is the only thing weshould use.

When calculating with minutes, our ISDN users will not be very happy becauseeach call, regardless how long (and with ISDN 20 seconds for checking mailis normal) is charged as one minute.Because we sell access by the hour, these users can only login 60 times forevery hour they've bought.

Please reconsider seriously about changing the Timeleft from minutes toseconds again.

Shouldn't be too hard and actually more logically because AscendMaxtime andMaxSessiontime are already in seconds, this is done (at least by Ascend)especially for the ISDN users.

Best Regards,

Paul Rensel

If you are using a Computone PowerRack, it resets the ASIDeachreboot. In order to correct the problem, you need to install supportforan NTP server and change the size of the AcctSessionID field in thecalldtable. You should be able to find ample talks about this in thelist archives (search from our web page).-- Dale E. Therefore, its irrelevant what theServerPortstable contains for storing accounting. However, the ServerPorts tableis required to be populated correctly for things like concurrencycontrol.-- Dale E. What is the user limit for thisversion if unregistered and running in text mode? I have read in you onlinedocumentation that the ODBC mode allows 100 logins. What happens afterthat? The system has started acting erratically, for example:We had a several users who couldn't log on. We tried several things in anattempt to get one user logged on. This included retyping his entry to makesure the spacing and tabs were in order, no success. Adding a sample user,no success. We then cut and pasted the one user at the top of the list, andhe was accepted. I went into the debug mode and noticed an error for one ofthe entries above this user. I have since then corrected this. The serverthough still will not authenticate users. We have since then moved the userlist to the MAX's internal user and password list. Is the unregisteredsoftware situation the problem, or has the upgrade changed features that Iam not use to?Also, I know to use debug, you must stop the service. Okay, after runningthe debug, the last line reads that the Radius Enterprise initialized... Isthis OK instead of "waiting for requests"? Is CTRL C the escape from thismode?
