Hi, I read on the web page that I can upgrade to 2.5 and preserve my
database. Is there anything we should be aware of before we attempt to
upgrade to 2.5?

Thanks,

Jason

After upgrading to 2.5 Radiusnt runs fine from the command line with
the -x15 switch
However when run as a service it does not work.

Any suggestions?

Using Access
In radius admin the configuration checked are
Mode odbc
debug odbc
the odbc dsn checks properly
under options the items checked are
concurrency
manual calls update
thank-you for any suggestions

Rich

As always, backup your installation before doing anything. It
should be a smooth upgrade, but if you are running against an
MS Access database, you should re-read the thread last week about
it.

Hello, our radius service stopped unexpectedly last night around 9pm. ADr.Watson window was generated; please take a look athttp://www.cnx.net/radiuserror.htm and let me know if this means anything,to anyone :)

Thanks

Thats because you have a logfile defined and RadiusNT is writingeverything to the logfile from that point on. Clear the logfilein the RadiusNT admin and restart RadiusNT.

Hi; I have recently converted our Access97 over to SQL and have everythingrunning fine except for turning on the non-concurrency. I have a program I wrote to keep Radius honest, it telnets into ourportmasters and verifies who's on with who Radius thinks is on and updatesthe ServerPorts table accordingly. I'm still not up to speed with SQL but Ihave noticed that there is a view (or table?) called 'CallsOnline' as wellas the 'ServerPorts' table. Which does RadiusNt (SQL mode) use for checkingconcurrency? I'm in the process of updating our monitor program to handleSQL and thought I'd double check before I got too far.

The CallsOnline view includes information from the ServerPorts tableamong others. Your program should update the serverports table.

If you are using an MS Access database, try compacting it. Whenan MS Access database becomes to big or corrupted, it can causethe application connecting to it via ODBC, to crash. If you lookat the function that crashed (SQLConvertString) its actual an MSAccess/Jet ODBC Driver function, not RadiusNT itself.

Can RadiusNT do IP pooling ?Like StillBelt Radius from Funk Software.I need to be able to assign IP addresses from different subnetsdepending on user name.

Are you running into any specific problems, or just looking for genericsetup questions?

Dale,

I am having this same problem it seems that on a reboot the the radiusservices starts before all of the tables in the SQL server are ready. I haveset the ODBCTimeout from 15-600 without any change. It seems to me thatradius thinks the ODBC connection is ready before all the tables have loaded. Is there a way to till the radius service to pause for 30 seconds beforestarting? This is the only problem that we are having. We wouldn't havenotice this except that we had a extended power outage in the middle of thenight that pulled down our UPS. When the power went back on the radius systemdidn't go online. Should I move the SQL server and the radius service toseparate computers or is there another fix? I have included a logfile for eachstartup of the Radius service (auto and manual).
