I'll assume you mean 2.5.124.

Yes, it is in the radiusnt.sql script. No imagination is required, although
it can be useful.

If the trigger is installed (you can right-click over the calls table
in Enterprise manager to see if there is a trigger on the calls table)
then there are two other issues.

First, make sure you are actually receiving accounting information from
your NAS (debug will show requests with an Acct-Status-Type line).

Secondly, make sure you added entrires to your ServerPorts table for
each port of each server. The ServerID field should match the ServerID
from from the Servers table, and the Port field should match the entries
in the NAS-port attribute of your accounting records.

Yep, getting ahead of you a bit, sorry!

Nope, no trigger, and I've checked radiusnt.sql and it dont have it therefrom what I can see, will check your site again.

Can you post the CREATE TRIGGER script to list so I can paste it right in?

It creates start and stop records ok

This was done ok.

Ok. I updated the script. > Can you post the CREATE TRIGGER script to list so I can paste it right in?

CREATE TRIGGER calls_insert ON Calls FOR INSERTAS UPDATE ServerPorts Set sp.UserName = i.UserName, sp.AcctStatusType = i.AcctStatusType, sp.CallDate = DateAdd(Second, 0-i.AcctDelayTime, i.CallDate), sp.FramedAddress = i.FramedAddress FROM Servers s, ServerPorts sp, inserted i WHERE s.IPAddress = i.NASIdentifier AND s.ServerID = sp.ServerID AND sp.Port = i.NASPort AND (DateAdd(Second, 0-i.AcctDelayTime, i.CallDate) >= sp.CallDate OR sp.CallDate IS NULL)GO > >First, make sure you are actually receiving accounting information from> >your NAS (debug will show requests with an Acct-Status-Type line).> > It creates start and stop records ok

You could have turned Manual Calls update on to achieve the samefunction as the trigger.

Seems to be ok now. I had better do a comparison between the tworadiusnt.sql scripts to see what other differences may be waiting to hit me.

Hi All,

Has anyone been able to succesfully do this. We were looking at thedatabase schema in Radius 2.5 and there are plenty of changes to thedatabase schema used in 2.2. What we are wondering is whether we should:

1. Dump the information from the SQL database, kill the database, runthe radius 2.5 script to re-create the database and reload the data.

or

2. Run a script to upgrade radius from 2.2. to 2.5

Thanks....

Sheldon,

Yes, It can be done. We did it while our server rejected all incomingcalls and the complaint line rang off the hook. I suggest thefollowing:

Install 2.5 in a separate directory and move a copy of your database tothat directory.

Open the database and import any tables from the sample radius97.mdbthat are not in you 2.2 database.

Add the additional data elements that appear in the radius97.mdb forlike named tables.

Rename NASPort to Port in the tables and queries in your 2.2 databasethat the 2.5 sample show as being named differently. This will alsoaffect any reports you have defined, but this can be down after 2.5 isup and running.

Run the admin GUI and set your parameters. Install the service thenstop and restart.

Keep the manual handy as it has all of the table and registry changesdocumented, but not in roadmap form. You will have to simply comparewhat's in the book to what's on your server and make the changes.

I haveCurrently an incident case opened with Microsoft tech support becauseeven many of their product are packaged with InstallShield.Today i tried to install a software on another Nt4 server Sp3 that i useas a test pc; the last test i maded on it was with RadiusNt (beforeinstalling the iea-software on the other server) so the service wasstill active. When i have seen on this test machine that any software was notinstalling, like in the other server, i have tried eliminate the onlything the two server have in common RADIUS NT from IEA-SW!!!!!Et voila'.....all worked fine (!!!!!!!!!!!) in the test pc; at thispoint i disabled radius on the main setver too and... et voila'...allworked FINE!!!!!!

How do we get the Caller-ID field to populate in our RadiusNT v2.5 calls table?

Anything special to do to make it work?

Can this info be recorded in the RadLogs table? ....in another column? If so, how?

If it isn't possible to have it displayed inthe Radlogs table, I wish it would be possible in a future release... a Caller-Id column in the RadLogs table.

Please repond!

I have some VB5 code that will do most of the database changes to aRadius2.2 Access database to make it work with Radius2.5 (notice I saymost). If someone is interested in taking what I have and making it work, let me know and I will email you the source. VB5 SP3 is required.

What I have done so far is look at the Schema that Dale put in the docs andused DAO to create the tables/fields/etc. in the existing 2.2 database. Ifyou know VB and DAO, there are probably a lot of people that would like tosee this work.

I am running the Standard Emerald and used it when I was doing my consolidation.... the phone did not ring so I guess it worked just fine with the Emerald license.

I did however turn it off and restarted Radius after I was finished... as I do not want to be running it on a daily basis until I have had some time to test it.

Hi,

Have just upgraded to RadiusNT 2.5.124 on our auth machine. The question I have is that when it is initialized, it shows as

RadiusNT (Emerald Standard) Initialized

Before I put the odbc connection in, I noticed it ran as

RadiusNT (Enterprise)

I read in the release notes that Emerald clients get RadiusNT Enterprise at no charge.

Can someone please confirm that (Emerald Standard) and (Enterprise)mean the same thing ? :)

Yes. The fault tolerance options like text backup are Enterprise features.

Your NAS (RADIUS client) must include it in the accounting packets. Youmust also have a column in your Calls table called CallerID.

I've enabled accept malformed accounting packetsin RadiusNT v2.5 Administrator.

What does this option do?

If packets are malformed, are they still processed?

If not, why accept them...? ...or why would you enable this option?

Please explain... thanks in advance!

I'm looking for information in Ascend Site and found this:

To establish a nailed-up link between two MAX TNT units, and have theconnection use the channels in group 1, you would configure the pseudo-userprofile as follows:

permconn-SanFran-1 Password="ascend", User-Service=Dialout-Framed-User User-Name="LA", Framed-Protocol=PPP, Framed-Address=50.1.1.2, Framed-Netmask=255.0.0.0, Ascend-Route-IP=Route-IP-Yes, Ascend-Metric=7, Framed-Routing=None, Ascend-Idle-Limit=0, Ascend-Call-Type=Nailed, Ascend-Group="1", Ascend-FT1-Caller=FT1-Yes

Then my question now is:RadiusNT (in ODBC mode) work with pseudo-user profiles?

Anyone? There is a trouble shooting and FAQ section on the website. Additionaly, might want to check out the Web site search, since it includes the mailing lists (which is like a big FAQ in itself).-- Dale E. Just use a Check attribute with RadiusNT 2.5 of NAS-Port-Type and the respectivetypes. I would guess you were using it as a reply attribute, nota check attribute.-- Dale E.
