Subject: RadiusNT v2.2 / MS Access 95 slow forms
From: postman@cp-tel.net (Postman Account)

Currently, we have RadiusNT v2.2 install on a P-133
with 64 MB RAM using MS Access 95... with approx.
1800 records in the MS Access database. We were
running Radius v1.6 with no problems... we copied
the data over to the new sample RadiusNT v2.2 database.

Now, we're using RadiusNT v2.2.... and I can open
tables without any problems... open up the
MasterAccounts table and it takes about 1 second...
and the SubAccounts table... takes about 1 second
for 1800 records... but, if I try to open any of
the forms... for MasterAccounts... or any other
form... it takes about 45 seconds to one minute
to open it...!? and I can't open any of the
information from across the network.

Any ideas? what could be causing this?

Have you tried compacting your database? That should help
it a lot, especially over the network. As I have noted before
(and this is my opinion) MS Access is not a suitable multi-user
solution. Anyone trying to run an ISP on a jet database with
more than 500 users is just asking for a lot of problems. :(

Before I get too much further into it.....Should this be able to workproperly with RadiusNT 1.60, MSAccess97, NT4.0 (sp3/Hotfixes), 3COM TCHswith T1s ?

If so is there a web site with setup instructions? I can see the IPaddresses of the server but no data shows up when I run the Query :-(

Assuming you have manual calls update enabled and you have populated yourServer Ports table with the ports for the TCHs, then it should workfine.
