RRAS Reboots machine. Way to not load a service?

I installed the PPTP fix, and left my machine. Well someone decided to
reboot my machine, before I had installed the RRAS hotfix. The docs say be
sure not to do this. Now my machine reboots when the RRAS tries to dial a
persistent connection. Is there a method for booting without loading
services?
